Thanks for being a friend to the Klumpp family. I wanted to give you a quick update as to our work as it progresses in our current location. Karen, Brady and I are working in the city of Wuxi. We are teaching at the International School of Wuxi. iswuxi.com
A typical day finds us awake by 5a.m. to take care of mundane chores like walking Sally (our dog) and preparing for our morning. It is normal for me to check email at that time to see if perhaps we have heard from friends or family in the US.
At 6:45a.m. Karen and I board our respective electric scooters and join the stream of travelers who are on their way to work. We arrive at school and begin our work day about 7a.m.. We have various staff meetings and updates and students begin to arrive just before 8a.m..
Karen spends her day working three libraries on campus while I am responsible for teaching social studies for high school. We both enjoy our colleagues and love sharing with our students and their families.
We are all studying intensive Mandarine classes. This is wonderful for allowing us to develop friends and further understand the culture of our neighbors.
Even with our involvement here, we stay connected with the Philippines and Kenya. We are also working to love on some of the people of poverty in our area. We have two small needs. Bethel Bethany Seminary in the Philippines has some minor needs for it's students. Our Service Team on campus has some needs to provide a special Christmas for some local kids. If you want more information about how you can assist, please write us at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will give you the information.
Please remember Kenya. The nation has experienced some problems with violence during recent elections. Davao, Philippines where Bethel calls home, is experiencing violence and tensions over civil unrest due to religious groups. Safety for the students who study their is key. As always, thanks for remembering the Klumpps.
